Café 58

Café 58 is a food service ministry of City on a Hill serving hot/cold beverages, snacks and deli lunches and dinners to ministry staff, volunteers and the general public. It is a great gathering place for anyone in need of a small meeting spot as well as a place for friends of all ages to meet and chat.

Catering is available for small or large groups meeting at City on a Hill. Contact the Café for more information.

Although the Café has a few paid staff, our many volunteers are essential in keeping the Café going. If you are interested in volunteering, check out the volunteer opportunities online or email us at cafe58@coahm.org and let us know!

Small Talk for Kids is a program dedicated to exposing young children (babies to age five) to other languages and cultures. Child and parent partner with a native speaking teacher specifically trained in Second Language Acquistion as she sings authentic lullabies, reads simple stories and nursery rhymes and interacts with them in Madarin, Spanish, French or Japanese.

Good Samaritan Ministries mission is mobilizing churches for community ministry. Our goal is linking people in need with Christians who care. This is accomplished through the ministry programs of CarLink, Clearinghouse, Community Housing Partnership, Faith In Youth Partnership, and Financial Counseling. Alongside is a Christian counseling and retreat ministry for pastors and missionaries. Their retreats involve intensive counseling and are focused on the restoration and renewal of those who are struggling with the burdens of ministry.

Café 58 provides meals for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Current dinner hours are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm-7pm. Suggested donations for the suppers are $4-$6. Vouchers available for anyone needing assistance and are available at His Harvest Stand, ATLAS Ministry, the Health Clinic and at the Café.

HEALTH CARE

The Health Clinic (under the direction of City on a Hill) provides free medical care for minor injuries or illnesses for those without insurance. The care is provided by qualified volunteer medical staff. The Clinic also offers social worker consultations, assistance to access community resources and services and referrals to other health providers for follow up or continued medical care. Clinic Hours: Tuesdays evenings. Registration is from 5:30-6:30. No appointment necessary.

The Women's Monthly Health Clinic is made possible through a grant from the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure Grand Rapids Affiliate and is an additional service of the Health Clinic. The clinic offers free clinical breast exams, mammograms and pap smears to at risk, uninsured women from the community who are post-childbearing years. This care is provided by qualified volunteer medical staff and is open the third thursday of the month.
